Founded by John and Tara Solomon, Interactive Investment Group began as a business boutique. Through contracted telecommunication partners, IIG promoted long-distance services via event-based marketing, running nationwide campaigns in Atlanta, Daytona Beach, New York City, and elsewhere. At each show IIG assembled small teams of promoters drawn from the best young talent in that city. The work extended into radio PR and print media, and the firm became known as one of the leading lead acquisition specialists of the late nineties.

As the dot-com era took hold, IIG followed its partners online and worked as digital-direct marketers in lead acquisition, growing both partner count and volume. When the bubble broke in 2001 and many online businesses closed, IIG stayed privately held and kept overhead low, which carried it through. It reconstituted during this period as an International Business Corporation.

IIG converted into a Limited Liability Company, keeping the boutique structure and the long-term partner relationships built over the preceding decade. The change was one of form; the business model did not shift.

Through the 2000s the firm's aggregation work moved toward investing relations, largely around media joint ventures. An international opportunity surfaced in 2005 and prompted a two-year search across emerging and frontier markets. In 2007 operations relocated to Durban, South Africa, and a new division — Interactive Stratagem, a close corporation since converted to a Pty Ltd — was funded by the parent to carry the same aggregation mission into BPO services and marketing and sales consulting.

Interactive Stratagem entered the property market in 2009 with a first estate in South Africa, then sought liquidation to pursue other interests. In 2016 a property investor brought a residential blueprint to the firm and a student accommodation model was adopted. As bondholders, IS partnered with a managing trust responsible for property oversight; the student housing model later merged with business accommodation under new partners. Solomon Private Asset and Equity Pty Ltd was established in 2020 as an asset and equity management company, working with partners in tokenised trading and aggregating bond issuers with token traders rather than routing through traditional lenders.
